Sarah Burton studied fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Burton completed a placement year with Alexander McQueen in 1996, rejoining again upon her graduation the year after.
In 2000, she was made Head of Design – Womenwear. On May 2010, Burton as announced as Creative Director of the Alexander McQueen and worked alongside Lee McQueen for more than 14 years. Her debut in Spring/Summer 2011 was a showcase of intricate craftsmanship and in Autumn/Winter 2011. Today, Burton supervises the creative direction and development of all collections of the brand.
